A Scenic Drive
Just going for a drive can be romantic. Find a (preferably quiet) road that has beautiful scenery and have a spot picked out where you can and enjoy the stillness. After driving for a while stop and snuggle up next to her and just enjoy your surroundings. Depending on your girl, you may not have to talk very much to make it romantic.
For some reason eating is romantic. Bring along a snack of some kind. One of my favorites, and it’s not messy so it’s easy to eat in the car, is bread, cheese, and grapes. The best breads are French or Italian. Pick some kind of nice cheese. Gouda, Parmesan, or an imported Swiss is really good. Red grapes are the best.
Consider having a wine. It will add to the romance. If you have red grapes, get a white wine, and if you have green grapes go with a red wine. I would say the red grapes and white wine combination is best.
If you are looking for non-alcoholic beverages have a sparkling apple or grape juice. That is the next best thing. Cranberry, grape, and white grape juices are good, too. If it is a chilly night, consider a hot beverage as well after you eat. Hot chocolate is classic. Or you may want to go with a hot tea, coffee, or hot apple cider.
Make sure to dress for the occasion. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes for the long time in the car. If it is in the evening, have a few blankets or sweaters to put on. Autumn drives are the best. It is beautiful with the colorful leaves and a bit chilly, so it makes a great excuse to cuddle. Drive with the windows down, even if it is wintertime. Just have plenty of blankets and turn the heater on.
Go to an old neighborhoods with lots of big trees (this one is best in the fall during the day). Go a short distance up into the hills and find a turnoff where you can see the city lights, preferably secluded. Drive to a big city park and find a little corner facing a pond or a pretty bridge or a grove of trees. Do this one in the fall or winter.
Set up a play list of some soft romantic music. That will add so much more to the romantic atmosphere you are trying to create.
